“Report.”

 

“I could ask you the same thing.”

 

Murray stopped and looked around main engineering to glare at Dickinson. He was still wearing his dress uniform, the dress uniform that he had attended a bombing in; the dress uniform that he carried a burly Klingon out of a bombed out building in; the dress uniform that he had torn up to reduce smoke inhalation; the dress uniform in which he had helped rescue the captain. And goodness did it reek of smoke.

 

“Me? Oh, I was out with friends. We stopped to take in a show. It was a blast. You?” Murray said, his voice dripping in sarcasm.

 

“I’m fine, thanks. Everything normal.”

 

“Good. There is one thing normal in the universe. I’m satisfied.” More sarcasm.

 

“So what now?”

 

“What now?” Murray looked around at the engineering crew and thought for a minute. “Well, if I had a guess, which I do, as opposed to knowing for a fact, which I don’t, we are likely going to be involved in the investigation. The Agincourt is the flagship of the Treaty of Versailles. We were invited to the ceremony. There is no way we’ll be sitting on the sidelines for this. The Treaty is too important, too fragile.”

 

Dickinson thought for a moment. “Do we have any idea who did this?”

 

“Not that I’ve heard. I swear, though, if it’s those Romulan terrorists again…” Murray let the statement hang in the air.

 

Dickinson gave a wry smile. “If it is, I’d say that this engineering unit is bad luck.”

 

Murray smirked at the comment. They’d been onboard when Pax Primus was attacked, and they had just been reassigned when the VDC was attacked. Coincidence? Maybe.

 

Murray walked over to a replicator and ordered a uniform jacket.
