Breaking in the new meat

Nemesis was looking over his plants noting that Lane did a great job making sure that they were alright and fed. He marked on a PADD the several things that needed to be replaced and changed, while Mini-I sat on his shoulder.

 

Anari enters Biolab and looks around

 

Mini-Me looks behind Nemesis to notice the fresh young ensign entering the lab and makes some monkey sounds into Nemesis' ear who replies back with "The new science ensign has arrived Mini-Me? Well I suppose we should greet her." Nemesis then turned around and proceeded to Anari.

 

Anari walks in and looks at the little monkey on Nemesis' shoulder then back at Nemesis. "Uh... Hello sir and mini Nemesis" Trailing off, not knowing what to say.

Mini-Me makes a bow to Anari while Nemesis holds out his tail like one would do when they were expecting a hand shake. "What brings you here Ensign? May I be of service?"

 

Anari shakes Nemesis' tail and glances at the equipment in the lab, noting its purpose is for biology.

 

"You seem lost Ensign, are you looking for anything particular?" Nemesis said as he withdrew his tail.

 

Anari pulls back her hand. “I can't seem to have misplaced my PADD"

 

"Your PADD? Were you in here before?" Nemesis inquired. "I know the ship can be hard to get around on sometimes especially with it in the condition it is in right now."

 

"Yes sir, I was in here, I was searching for spare parts, I carried two but when I arrived at engineering there was only one in my hand. The ship is a mess, like my quarters." She replied.

 

Nemesis looked to Mini-Me "Look for the ensign's PADD" Mini-Me spoke in Monkey and hopped off and ran in search for the PADD. Nemesis then looked back and Anari. "I'm sure he'll find it, he has niche for finding things, a lot of things he's not supposed to find either."

 

"Ahh I see." Anari looks at the rummaging Monkey. “Such a curious little monkey, no wonder he'd find things no one was suppose to." She said, looking around then back at Nemesis

Mini-Me zips by and Nemesis looks back at Anari "Yes, he is one of my proudest achievements"

 

“Him... how old is he now?" Anari asked, curious.

 

"Only a few months, now though he is vastly maturing" Nemesis said as he looks over his PADD.

 

“so, here we are in Romulan space, it certain is a strange feeling." She said, noting the quiet atmosphere.

 

"Romulan space? Indeed, I have almost forgotten. I have been kept far too busy, though I doubt the Romulans will cause us any trouble since the recent events." Nemesis said as he placed down the PADD and turned his head to check for Mini-Me.

 

Anari nods.

 

"Must be difficult for you, as soon you leave the Academy you are hurtled to Romulan space and battle with telepathic Aquatics." Nemesis said with a tiny grin.

 

"It ... is difficult to get a sense of whats happening aboard, and those squids are ... strange." She sighed. "And I never would have thought that the ship I’m posted on is visiting the Romulans"

 

"Indeed, we are placed through many things that we never thought would ever happen Ensign, yet they always have a way of happening. Don't they" Nemesis replied returning to his work.

 

"Yes its unpredictable." she nodded and turns her attention to Nemesis' Monkey

 

Mini-Me zips back holding a PADD in his hand, Nemesis picks it up and hands it back to Anari. "Looks like we've found your PADD Ensign."

 

Anari accepts the PADD and taps it, reviewing information, and turns it off. "Thank you, both." She nodded at the two Monkiens.

 

"And, it’s nice to meet you, both." She said, and walks out the door.

 

Nemesis nods. "Farewell Ensign"
