USS Manticore - Mondays 10 ET - Command Staff: Captain McFly, Kansas Kenickie

= USS MANTICORE BRIEFING #1274, STARDATE 52406.10 =

= Manticore had been destroyed. Two years later, the crew of the Manticore-B had been splintered. Kansas was reassigned off the ship to a new position guarding the Federation President. Faldek had been given a special assignment which lead to him and Gila going to Cardassia where they met up with an old friend, Edvenent. Manticore herself returned from a years long shakedown cruise and returned to Starbase -REDACTED- to be fitted with a new dorsal module. During a conference on the lunar colony, Kansas was able to thwart an assassination attempt on the President. This proved to be a distraction for the real mission, the theft of Manticore's dorsal module, a weapon known only as the Planet Killer. Manticore was sent after it but wound up running into a group of mercenaries they didn't expect and lost Captain McFly in the process. Kansas was then sent in separately to find the module and slowly uncovered a conspiracy involving high ranking Starfleet officers. Meanwhile, Faldek's mission was to track down a theft of a Federation weapon. After two years the mission seemed as if it may have been scrubbed but they soon learned that it was restarted and was much larger than original anticipated. Faldek discovered a new devastating Dominion Battleship. Gila learned select Jem'Hadar soldiers were being trained on Federation technology. And Edvenent found a connection between their mission and the theft of the PK. Kansas was able to track down the location of the module but found it had already been moved. However she did retrieve McFly. Faldek, Gila & Edvenent were instructed to stop the transfer of this large weapon only to discover the location given to them was wrong. Eventually, all parties found their way back to Manticore. They were able to destroy the Dominion Battleship along with the PK. But their mission may have uncovered a deep conspiracy and Kansas is intent on capturing someone close to the Federation President. Manticore has returned to Earth and they've just stumbled into a hornets nest. Manticore, and Black Ops at large, is being locked down for reasons that have yet to be revealed. Faldek, Gila and Edvenet were taken by SF Security and interrogated by unauthorized personnel. Finally someone from A9's office arrived to remove them from the situation. Meanwhile, Kansas found the Federation President dying of poison and Admiral Jaffee by his side. As the only person not from Black Ops she has free reign to investigate what happened. EJ and Bren were sent to question Jaffee but in the middle of it all Admiral Moore came in with new evidence and an order to move her to a prison cell. Kansas must now talk with Ryan and hopefully learn what is actually going on. = starfleet

Listen I pretty much sent all the information that we gathered, which wasn't much and half of it was misinformation anyways. We got there, but the PK was already installed. Thankfully we managed to stop it after its test firing and before it made it here.

Quite possibly. It's best not to have this mold fester. The less people are sitting around talking about the good ol days the quicker everyone can move on.

And in any respectable operation, Kansas you of all people would no compartmentalization of operatives carrying out a mission is mandatory. I say again I do not know who Poisoned the President only how.

As for theft of the Highly destructive PK device, I know my associates did it. But again I do not have the names.

Getting information is not exact.

Klingons, always with the dishonor... Now listen, son, I have no reason to be after you. All the evidence points to Jaffee. I understand you may feel a sense of loyalty to her but son, she would drop you like a cow pie in a heartbeat if she needed to. Understand where your loyalties lie. Starfleet will always be there for you, not a rogue Admiral.

I did meet with the Dominion along with Admiral Leyton. We were interested in an end to the conflict, they were interested. To my surprise. They wanted proof or our sincerity ....we offered them the PK....to detonate it in their controlled space.....and we convinced the Vorta this would be far more effective...

I wonder if he was given faulty information, I don't think the Jem'Hadar are trained in espionage and counter-intelligence.

+McFly+ I believe I found some Cardassian bio signs in the area, seems to be a fairly secured area. I think it might be one of our safe houses in the area,, not 100% sure if that's Faldek but how many other Cardassians do they have nearby? aside from Gila, but I think it's a male signature.

This was is just... The Dominion is using Cardassians as cannon fodder. Can't feel sorry for them because they got into bed with em. Just disappointing.

Do you see now? Jaffee is going to prison, the other Admirals involved in this operation will be investigated. We've agreed to allow the fleet plausible deniability but trust me, if you give me a reason to, I will investigate not just you two, but the whole of Manticore as well. I can only imagine what would be uncovered.
