USS Manticore - Mondays 10 ET - Command Staff: Captain McFly, Kansas Kenickie

= USS MANTICORE BRIEFING #1273, STARDATE 52406.03 =

= Manticore had been destroyed. Two years later, the crew of the Manticore-B had been splintered. Kansas was reassigned off the ship to a new position guarding the Federation President. Faldek had been given a special assignment which lead to him and Gila going to Cardassia where they met up with an old friend, Edvenent. Manticore herself returned from a years long shakedown cruise and returned to Starbase -REDACTED- to be fitted with a new dorsal module. During a conference on the lunar colony, Kansas was able to thwart an assassination attempt on the President. This proved to be a distraction for the real mission, the theft of Manticore's dorsal module, a weapon known only as the Planet Killer. Manticore was sent after it but wound up running into a group of mercenaries they didn't expect and lost Captain McFly in the process. Kansas was then sent in separately to find the module and slowly uncovered a conspiracy involving high ranking Starfleet officers. Meanwhile, Faldek's mission was to track down a theft of a Federation weapon. After two years the mission seemed as if it may have been scrubbed but they soon learned that it was restarted and was much larger than original anticipated. Faldek discovered a new devastating Dominion Battleship. Gila learned select Jem'Hadar soldiers were being trained on Federation technology. And Edvenent found a connection between their mission and the theft of the PK. Kansas was able to track down the location of the module but found it had already been moved. However she did retrieve McFly. Faldek, Gila & Edvenent were instructed to stop the transfer of this large weapon only to discover the location given to them was wrong. Eventually, all parties found their way back to Manticore. They were able to destroy the Dominion Battleship along with the PK. But their mission may have uncovered a deep conspiracy and Kansas is intent on capturing someone close to the Federation President. Manticore has returned to Earth and they've just stumbled into a hornets nest. Manticore, and Black Ops at large, is being locked down for reasons that have yet to be revealed. Faldek, Gila and Edvenet were taken by SF Security and interrogated by unauthorized personnel. Finally someone from A9's office arrived to remove them from the situation. Meanwhile, Kansas found the Federation President dying of poison and Admiral Jaffee by his side. As the only person not from Black Ops she has free reign to investigate what happened. EJ and Bren were sent to question Jaffee. Hopefully Kansas freedom will be able to get them access to her. = starfleet

::sighs:: I wish I knew. I sat down with Admiral Jaffee in my office. We had a big meeting planned to discuss the lost weapon. When suddenly I felt very ill. Sweat, nausea, I couldn't focus, my eye sight quickly became blurry. I tried to reach over to Elaine but then I blacked out and was looking up at you.

Not that I could tell. It happened so quickly but I could hear her inquire about my safety. She didn't sound like she was experiencing anything.

We're at war and Cardassians aren't exactly members of the Federation. I had to get special permission to join up and get citizenship. ::enters::

He wanted to meet with me about the PK theft. Word got out to some of the higher ranks about the situation. Some had no idea we held such a weapon. Of course they didn't know. But once they learned the hit the fan. The President wanted me to brief him about the situation.

Perhaps this brandy will regenerate me. The time differences between places have wreaked my rhythm.

And before you briefed him what were you doing?
