Jylliene: ::@ CnC, Ops::
Dacia Sandero: ::working in the sickbay::
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::in science lab. Contemplating::
mimipavilion: ::in medical::
Fletcher Jackson: :::CnC working Aux Ops:::
Johnson Kenyon: ::tinkering on design in Main Engineering::
Alexis McFarland: ::with Miana and Annisha somewhere, probably back at school::
Tarisa: ::In the Science labs as well.. She looks to Dran.:: Something wrong?
Scott Coleridge: ::on the CnC, having finally made it through breakfast and the first part of a shift uninterrupted, has caught up on his reports but is now faced with mission planning::
Chirakis: :::steps out of her office to pace around CnC:::
Tae'Lynn Dran: Probably.
Jylliene: ::page page page page::
Tarisa: Miana> ::At her desk in class.::
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::fiddling with a cellular scanner::
Tarisa: ::Tilts her head curiously.:: What is it?
Scott Coleridge: ::preparing his briefing notes and sending requisitions to the quartermaster before he calls a briefing::
Johnson Kenyon: ::wonders if he'll see Nijil::
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::sighs:: ::sets the scanner down:: This nebula business is taking a dangerous turn.
Chirakis: :::passes a few, stops to answer questions and get updates, then moves on:::
Tarisa: ::Nods.:: With the idea that it is not natural?Scott Coleridge: ::Chirakis:: Captain.
Chirakis: ::turns:: Yes, Commander?
Alexis McFarland: ::wearing a t-shirt and shorts but no shoes or socks:: ... Because I don't need them. I'm stuck in this hover chair for 2 weeks, so what's the point? And it's a hassle to dress myself with only one hand. One less thing.. :::she told her friend Olivia who asked where her shoe were::
Scott Coleridge: I'm about ready to brief my team on the away mission. Do you want to be present?
Chirakis: ::moves slowly toward him:::
Alexis McFarland: ::Olivia responds with a satisfied shrug::
Chirakis: It is not obligatory, but it is probably a good idea given the circumstances.
Tae'Lynn Dran: I started researching the radiation purifying effect going on and now command is talking about what could be considered weapon testing.
Tarisa: :;Frowns.:: I see. That is troubling.
Dacia Sandero: ::again, checking up on patients in the sickbay, watching one of the other doctors check in a new patient who just walked in::
Scott Coleridge: Understood. We'll be in the meeting room in about 15 minutes.
Chirakis: ::nod::
Tae'Lynn Dran: Or at least what could be seen as weapons testing. I understand the reasoning behind it. It was my suggestion! But, well. There's something darker or feels darker going on.
Alexis McFarland: ::Angles her hover chair at a jaunty angle with her bad leg sticking out, since she couldn't fit her legs under her desk because of the chair::.
Scott Coleridge: ::Jylliene:: Commander, please have Commander Korjata, Dr. Sandero, and Lt. Dran report to the meeting room in 15 minutes for an away mission briefing.
Tarisa: ::Nods.:: Perhaps you can have your findings restricted. I am sure the Captain could have them locked away in her Vault.
Alexis McFarland: ::Sighs::
Jylliene: ::groans inwardly at the idea of Nijil on another away mission:: Yes sir.
Jylliene: +Dran, Nijil, Dacia+ Ops here. Report to the meeting room in 15 minutes for away mission briefing.
Tae'Lynn Dran: Oh dear.
Alexis McFarland: ::to Miana and Annisha:: I hear we're scheduled for laps around the track for gym this week. Running exercises are boring.
Jylliene: ::though at least this time Nijil isn't in command of the team, so there's that.::
Tarisa: Miana> ::Sitting next to Alexis. Tries to cheer her up.::
Tae'Lynn Dran: +Ops+ Understood.
Chirakis: ::stops at the security console and logs in:::
Johnson Kenyon: +Nijil+ Lt Kenyon to Chief Engineer
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Hears the request ::
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::gathering her pack:: I wish I had time to think this through.
Tarisa: Good luck with your mission.
Alexis McFarland: But I think we're exempt given our.. injuries. I know I am, unless they want me to do laps in my chair... which I could do. That'd be fun.
Fletcher Jackson: :::headset on, monitoring incoming and outgoing:::
Tae'Lynn Dran: :::Tarisa:: Thanks you. ::tries to smile a little::
Nijil tr'Korjata: +Kenyon+ Korjata here, go ahead.
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::slings the pack over her shoulder:: Here we go.
Tarisa: And if you wish, maybe I can make a request with the Captain.
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::exits the lab::
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: :: at tactical, looking at a bit map ::
Chirakis: ::checking Garand's list for the security team for the mission:::
Johnson Kenyon: +Nijil+ I have been working on this new design for a power relay for use with the new sensors and would like to test it. Do you have time to check it out?
Tarisa: Miana> ::Still in a sling.:: Running would be hard. Maybe I can ride with you?
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::Tarisa:: You know the Captain better. That might be for the best.
Jylliene: +Nijil, Dacia+ Ops here. Away team briefing in 15 minutes at the meeting room. Please acknowledge.
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::moves to the TL::
Chirakis: ::verifies it and returns the list with orders to prepare:::
Alexis McFarland: ::smiles:: Yeah, sure! Though maybe it'd be better to squeeze in next to me in the chair so you don't fall off.
Dacia Sandero: ::checks on some of the furry patients that the sickbay houses, then hears the comm +Jylliene+ Acknowledged.
Tarisa: Miana> ::Puts up her good arm in glee.:: Yay!
Johnson Kenyon: ::wonders if Nijil is lost in thought::
Dacia Sandero: Alright, well I guess I'll be on my way then. ::heads out of sickbay::
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::lift stops. She exits and moves quickly to the meeting room::
Tarisa: ::Leaves the lab, grabbing a lift.::
Scott Coleridge: ::makes his way to the meeting room::
Dacia Sandero: ::waves to the doctors and heads to the lift::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Walking :: +Kenyon+ Sorry, I think there is a buffer delay in the comms system.
Dacia Sandero: ::waves to the doctors and heads to the lift::
Chirakis: ::following Scott::: Commander Kital, you have the con.
mimipavilion: ::hollers:: have fun.
Tarisa: :;Arrives on the CnC.::
Jylliene: Acknowledged, ma'am. I have the con.
Johnson Kenyon: +Nijil+ I'll check on the buffer delay. Are you available to check out my design?
Jylliene: +Nijil+OPS to Nijil. Mission briefing imminent in the meeting room. Please respond.
Nijil tr'Korjata: +Kenyon+ I can swing by, I have to be somewhere in 10.
Dacia Sandero: ::arrives at the CNC not long after Tarisa::
Johnson Kenyon: +Nijil+ I'm in Main Engineering
Jylliene: ::I'mgonnakillhimI'mgonnakillhimI'mgonnakillhim::
Johnson Kenyon: <LOL>
Nijil tr'Korjata: +Ops+ I <pause> au, buffer issue <pause> Investigating.
Alexis McFarland: ::in class, working on her assignment::
Chirakis: ::enters the conference room and takes an unobtrusive seat:::
Tarisa: ::Watches as people head for the meeting room. She nods to Jylliene and walks over to SCI.::
Jylliene: ::sees through the bluff, given that she can see systems info on her own console::
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::takes a seat::
Dacia Sandero: ::takes a seat as well::
Jylliene: +Nijil+The meeting is nearly starting. You'd better get up here.
Scott Coleridge: ::sits at the head of the table, notes that people are early… except for Nijil::
Scott Coleridge: ((Lol))
Chirakis: (conference people, take a @ please)
Johnson Kenyon: ::pulls up the design schematic and downloads it to a PADD for Nijil to look at when he has a moment::
Jylliene: ::gives Tarisa an acknowledging wave::
Tarisa: ::Looks over.:: I take it the Captain joined the meeting as well?
Jylliene: ::nods to Tarisa:: She did indeed.
Chirakis: @ ::settles in, relaxed::
Johnson Kenyon: ::after downloading to the PADD, pulls up the COMM system to look for a problem in the buffer::
Nijil tr'Korjata: @ :: frustrated, enters the conference room ::
Alexis McFarland: Huh what? Yeah, my leg still hurts a bit up to my lower leg. ::speaking to another student and moves her good arm to below her shin:: Up to there, and my foot is fine too. I'm stuck in the chair for 2-4 weeks. Yeah, it does suck.
Dacia Sandero: @ ::settles in as well::
Scott Coleridge: @ Welcome, everyone.
Jylliene: ::a bit more relaxed now::
Nijil tr'Korjata: +Kenyon+ I will have to see au later, at a conference.
Johnson Kenyon: +Nijil+ Roger that.
Dacia Sandero: @::turns her attentions to Scott::
Nijil tr'Korjata: @ +Jylliene+ I am here.
Johnson Kenyon: ::puts the PADD in Nijil's office then returns to the console::
Scott Coleridge: @ I take it all of you read the mission reports from Commander Korjata's search-and-rescue mission?
Jylliene: ::blinks in confusion, mumbles:: Yes, I know, I saw you walk through...
Chirakis: Garand> ::in a conference with his team, bringing them up to speed:::
Nijil tr'Korjata: @ :: sits ::
Johnson Kenyon: ::to Computer:: Run a level 5 diagnostic on the Comm system to see if there is a problem in the relay buffer
Tae'Lynn Dran: @ Yes sir.
Jylliene: ::sends a quick "I see" message to his PADD in response::
Dacia Sandero: @Y-Yes.
Scott Coleridge: @ The data gathered during that mission, particularly concerning the anomalous EM waves from, is very interesting.
Nijil tr'Korjata: @ sorry, possible engineering issue, nothing station threatening.
Johnson Kenyon: ::looks strangely at the result:: Computer, increase to level 3 diagnostic and walk me through buffer by buffer
Scott Coleridge: @ Lt. Dran has been following up on several theories. We've decided further investigation is warranted.
Tarisa: ::Logs into the sensor system.::
Scott Coleridge: @ We'll be taking the Aegean back to the nebula to conduct a more detailed study of the star and the region.
Tae'Lynn Dran: @ ::making notes in her journal::
Fletcher Jackson: :::rerouting a freighter so it can offload its cargo a little easier::
Chirakis: @ ::listening:::
Scott Coleridge: @::brings up a graphic of the region on the main monitor:: We'll approach the nebula and conduct a preliminary scan, then enter and proceed towards the star.
Johnson Kenyon: ::stopping at one buffer:: Computer, magnify buffer 337115
Nijil tr'Korjata: @ I have Tarisa's shield harmonics.
Scott Coleridge: @ From there, how we proceed will depend on the star's activity. One of the reasons we're going is to see if we can determine why the star's periodicity increased so suddenly and the waves became so much stronger.
mimipavilion: ::dealing with Children's Home reports and sending them, some that were needing to be sent a lot sooner, but considering that she's been busy::
Scott Coleridge: @ If the star is quiescent, we'll get as close as we can and launch a series of probes to collect detailed scans.
Scott Coleridge: @ If the star is too active, we'll be much more cautious.
Dacia Sandero: @ ::Watches the screen::
Chirakis: Garand> ::outlining the possible dangers, emphasizing the gear needed::
Johnson Kenyon: ::looking at the magnified buffer:: Computer, what is the cause of this pattern?
Nijil tr'Korjata: @ the star could be artificially affected by some kind of unforeseen technology.
Scott Coleridge: @ Yes, that's one hypothesis we should consider on the mission.
Scott Coleridge: @ It's also possible that our presence affects the star, considering that its behaviour only changed after so many ships were in the area at the same time.
Johnson Kenyon: Computer> the most likely cause is a power surge
Chirakis: Computer> There is no power surge.
Scott Coleridge: @::Nijil:: Commander, we'll need to make the same modifications to Aegean's shields and systems that you made to the Nei'rrh to protect us from the waves.
Nijil tr'Korjata: @ :: nods ::
Johnson Kenyon: ::mouthing:: a power surge without a power surge?
Scott Coleridge: @::Dacia:: Doctor, we're still unclear on the effect that the waves' radiation has on living tissue. I'll want you working closely with Lt. Dran on this.
Chirakis: Computer> the most likely cause is a power surge.
Dacia Sandero: @ ::nods:: Yes, of course.
Chirakis: Computer> There is no power surge.
Scott Coleridge: @::Dran:: Lieutenant, you've already done exemplary work studying the waves from the data we have. I also appreciate your creative thinking in trying to compare it to other wave-like phenomena, like the Breen energy weapon. Now you'll have a chance to investigate more thoroughly, so prepare an experiment schedule accordingly.
Tae'Lynn Dran: @ Yes sir.
Johnson Kenyon: ::either an undetectable power surge or a something else that looks like one::
Scott Coleridge: @ Questions?
Johnson Kenyon: Computer, what additional probable or perhaps improbable causes are there for this buffer change?
Nijil tr'Korjata: @ may we have extra probes?
Johnson Kenyon: ::thinking:: I suppose we could have lost a power regulator
Scott Coleridge: @::Nijil:: Good idea.
Nijil tr'Korjata: @ cargo bay two..
Chirakis: Computer> ::buzz:: power surge ::buzz:::
Dacia Sandero: (Johnson, did you break the computer?)
Johnson Kenyon: ::stands and looks at the console::
Johnson Kenyon: <<It was Nijil, I swear>>
Scott Coleridge: @ One more thing: I don't anticipate any trouble on this mission, but considering the nebula's proximity to regions of space with less savoury traffic, we're going to bring an extra security detail.
Johnson Kenyon: ::resetting console and moving to another one::
Dacia Sandero: @::nods:: Makes sense.
Tae'Lynn Dran: @ ::was just starting to relax::
Johnson Kenyon: ::decides to get a repair kit... goes to the engineering rack and picks up some tools::
mimipavilion: ::still in her office, mumbling about the paperwork and how meticulous Rihans are::
Scott Coleridge: @::Nijil:: How long will it take to adjust Aegean's systems?
Chirakis: 10:50 PM
Johnson Kenyon: ::moving to another engineering console:: Computer, calculate the volume of a star 1 light year in diameter
Nijil tr'Korjata: @ few hours, could do enroute
Chirakis: Computer> :the :calculation comes through quickly and precisely:::
Johnson Kenyon: ::scanning with a tricorder as the calculation is made::
Chirakis: @ ::looks to Scott:::
Jylliene: ((That's one crazy huge star))
Chirakis: @ ::her expression indicates not a good idea::
Scott Coleridge: @ Understood. Let's get it done beforehand though. Then we'll leave first thing tomorrow morning.
Scott Coleridge: @ The rest of you, take today to study up on the data we already have.
Nijil tr'Korjata: @ do we need to leave Aegis immediately?
Tae'Lynn Dran: @ ::making a supply list::
Tarisa: Miana> ::Glad that it wasn't her writing hand that was in the sling. She was still able to write things.::
Johnson Kenyon: ::notes the response:: Computer, bring up last buffer sequence and provide best approximation of what caused the buffer lag.
Nijil tr'Korjata: @ only one way to be sure it works :: grins ::
Dacia Sandero: @::makes a note to check medical supplies for the upcoming mission::
Tae'Lynn Dran: @ ::configuring sensor pod load out::
Scott Coleridge: @ If there's nothing else... you are dismissed.
Alexis McFarland: ::her good hand also wasn't broken so she's able to do her assignments and writing as well::
Nijil tr'Korjata: @ :: nods, entering items on his padd ::
Dacia Sandero: @::nods and begins to jot down stuff on her PADD as well::
Nijil tr'Korjata: @:: gets up, sure looking at his padd ::
Johnson Kenyon: Computer> ::chirp, but no response::
Chirakis: @ ::hoping Nijil doesn't trip:::
Dacia Sandero: @::gets up and heads out as well::
Tae'Lynn Dran: @ ::Stands and moves towards the door::
Chirakis: 10:58 PM
Nijil tr'Korjata: @ :: dances around obstacles and gets out unharmed ::
Tae'Lynn Dran: @ ::stops:: Commander. May I ask what the primary objective of this mission is?
Chirakis: @ ::also stands:::
Johnson Kenyon: ::pulling out the specifications on the Computer, going through the diagrams::
Jylliene: ::sees folks beginning to emerge::
Nijil tr'Korjata: @ :: exits, the AT symbol falling to the floor ::
Dacia Sandero: @ ::follows everyone out and to the turbolift::
Scott Coleridge: @::Dran:: Ideally? Discover the cause of the waves, understand how they work, and how to improve our defences against them.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: goes to Jylliene ::
Chirakis: (last words)
Chirakis: @ ::exits to CnC:::
Scott Coleridge: @ We can't take along the Breen energy weapon for comparison, I'm afraid, but you're welcome to continue your inquiries along those lines.
Tae'Lynn Dran: @ Thank you sir.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: quietly to Jy :: seems I'm leaving again.
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::steps onto the CnC::
Jylliene: It seems so.
Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\=
Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\=
Chirakis: 5/3/19
Chirakis: Thank you.
Chirakis: Well done, as usual.
Chirakis: TBS will be another 24 hours.
Chirakis: Comments, Commander?
Scott Coleridge: No
Chirakis: Questions or comments from the crew?
Jylliene: ?
Chirakis: Ms Kital?
Jylliene: Will the team have departed at sim start, or just be heading out at that point?
Johnson Kenyon: ?
Chirakis: It depends on their readiness. Scott, thoughts on that?
Scott Coleridge: I think we'll be on Aegean and getting underway
Chirakis: Very well.
Chirakis: Mr Kenyon?
Jylliene: Gotcha.
Johnson Kenyon: This computer glitch, will it have disappeared or cause random problems over the next 24 hours?
Chirakis: It depends on the engineer fixing it, of course.
Chirakis: Let's hope it is minor.
Johnson Kenyon: can I expect random glitches over the next 24 hours?
Chirakis: Random is random.
Johnson Kenyon: LOL
Scott Coleridge: You are allowed to sleep at some point.
Chirakis: He is?
Scott Coleridge: And wake up to the night shift's report of what glitches they encountered.
Scott Coleridge: Do *you* want a sleep-deprived engineer fixing your life support system?
Johnson Kenyon: thanks, Commander.... I see your point
Chirakis: That said..
Chirakis: Crew dismissed. Be well. Be Safe. Don’t forget your towel.
