  1. Personal Log

    Stardate 0511.30

We have entered the room on the Vacitu that is emitting the signal we picked up. I can tell right now that something is not right. No Romulan ship is equipped with class five blast doors. There are bad things going on here.

That said, the place is spotless. We’ve been all over this room looking for whatever it is that’s causing the signal. It looks like it could pass off as a lab or torture chamber or something, but there is simply nothing here. Some cabinets, desks, counters, furniture, a sink. The cabinets are empty, the desk and counters bare, the furniture like it was just delivered; the sink isn’t even connected to anything. So either this room was new or they cleared out as we pursued them.

There isn’t any equipment here, though. There has to be something here that’s generating that signal, and we need to find it. Again, though, slight problem in that there seems to be some sort of dampening field in effect. We can still pick up the signal, but we have no clue how close we are to it. It looks like that’s our next hurdle.

In other news I got a report from Jay. They are almost finished pulling out the damaged docking clamp. They’re currently putting together a parts list for the hardware replicator. Reconstruction should begin within the week.

  2. This is insane. 2005 will go on record as the busiest hurricane season in history. (21 storms in 1936 topped the record books till now) And, they're predicting that next year will be just as bad or worse. If tropical storm Zeta brews up in the next week or so, I'm moving underground.

    Zaphod,

    "I purr, therefore I am."

Actually, that was before radar and satellite imagery, so it is likely that there were more storms in '36 than is recorded, storms that just kinda spun around in the ocean.

  3. Just when you think it's over...

  4. Hello. I am the STSF Resident Egomaniac, and I would like to welcome you to the Star Trek Simulation Forum at stsf.net (as opposed to stsf.com; try simming there  !) Just remember that the secret to simming is to have fun and the secret word is "tryptophan". :D :)

    May you die well. :D

  5. Murray entered his quarters and plopped down on the sofa. He was rather infuriated at the moment, and he did know who it was directed at.

He had just come from the bridge where he and Sinjyn got in a rather heated discussion about the existence of the Breen.

    “Computer, begin log.”

I can’t believe this. We’re up against the Breen. And apparently, someone has made contact with them and not told anyone about it. How could anyone encounter such an apparently hostile species and not warn anyone? We could have died right then and there if the Breen had wanted to kill us. They still might, for that matter.

I don’t know which is worse: the fact that the Breen do exist or that Sinjyn knew about them. The only thing I can say now is that if he knows of their existence, he’d better know about their armaments. We could be in a bad way in a battle of them, not that we aren’t aleady. But if they’re the ones that took out the Fed’s Third Fleet, I highly suspect that they could easily have their way with an old decrepit Ambassador class in major need of a major overhaul. My grandfather served on this ship before it was captured. We’re probably going to have to start applying arthritis medication to the ship.

    “Computer, pause recording.”

Murray laid on his sofa and closed his eyes. Best not to go into battle all tired.
